HEART OF WILDERNESS
Trying to provide for his wife and daughter, Travis Wallien becomes entangled in a drug deal that goes south. To save himself and his family he must convince his wife to flee with him to the wilderness, where their already strained relationship is put to the test. Against the backdrop of the icy waters of Northern Minnesota, the secrets they keep are revealed and the fight for their future begins as they are forced to decide how far they will go for the ones they love.
Heart of Wilderness was filmed on location at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness near Ely, MN.
Towle Neu - Director/Producer/Writer
Towle is a director, writer, producer, and editor, i.e., an independent filmmaker. He has worked on movies that have screened at film festivals throughout the country, including SXSW. He was also a producer of the 48 Hour Film Project in Minneapolis. Heart of Wilderness is his directorial debut.
Michael Forstein - Producer
Michael is a director and producer from Minneapolis, MN. His work has been screened at festivals throughout the country including Sundance, SXSW, and AFI Fest. He has worked in operations at film festivals including Tribeca, Rooftop Films, and the Chicago International Film Festival. He is currently VP of Production and Development at Indevu Films.

Mark Steele - Executive Producer
Mark currently serves as VP of Production at Were Werk Werks where he was Co-Producer on Lawrence Kasdan’s DARLING COMPANION (Sony Pictures Classics), Jill Sprecher's THIN ICE (ATO Pictures), Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Freidman's HOWL (Oscilloscope), and Todd Solondz's LIFE DURING WARTIME (IFC Films). Other producing credits include Zachary Heinzerling's Oscar-nominated CUTIE & THE BOXER (RADiUS-TWC), and Michael Sladek's CON ARTIST (New Yorker Films). Mark is also an industry leading Post-Production Supervisor and has served as the technical and operations guru for various film festivals (e.g. Sundance , Tribeca, Telluride). Mark was a 2013 Trans-Atlantic Partners Producing Fellow and is a member of the Producers Guild of America (Producers Council).
Patrick is an L.A based actor from Chicago, IL. He trained in the UK at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He is best known for his work on the Fox dramas The Mob Doctor and Empire, the BBC drama River City, the Starz drama The Girlfriend Experience, and the nine time Tony Award winning musical Billy Elliot.
Sarah got her start as a theater actress and has acted in over 60 stage productions. Her aspirations for a feature film career took her to Los Angeles where she has focused predominately on independent film, working with many greats including Oscar nominated Robert Loggia in "Apostle Peter and The Last Supper" (the film reached top 10 most streamed on Netflix), but is best known for her leading roles in “Playing House” and “Goodbye Promise”. Sarah co-wrote and will act in “Valley of the Moon”, completed in 2017.
